Since that 20 November 1981 when the Mas Romeu Restaurant was founded, Auguste Escoffier’s watchword of
“good cooking is the foundation of true happiness”
has been the criterion tthat we have made our own and kept ever-present in our daily work.
The way we go about things is to research and to offer traditional-cuisine dishes always based on fresh seasonal products that are natural and sometimes even humble, for it is these that have characterised Catalan cuisine. We prepare and cook them as in former times, observing the often slow and laborious procedures used in ancestral cooking. That is what basically underpins our menu.
Yet we cannot forget the importance of presentation (for as we all know, food also attracts through the eyes), and how essential is professional service at a comfortable table. In this respect we are proud to be assisted by another member of the Garriga family: our daughter Laia.
All that work has been rewarded with recognition and regular visits from customers from all over.
This confirms us in our chosen line and lends us the energy to continue each day honourably and gladly to offer you the very best that our hands can produce.
