Since that 20 November 1981 when the Mas Romeu Restaurant was founded, Auguste Escoffier’s watchword of

“good cooking is the foundation of true happiness”

has been the criterion tthat we have made our own and kept ever-present in our daily work.

The way we go about things is to research and to offer traditional-cuisine dishes always based on fresh seasonal products that are natural and sometimes even humble, for it is these that have characterised Catalan cuisine. We prepare and cook them as in former times, observing the often slow and laborious procedures used in ancestral cooking. That is what basically underpins our menu.

Yet we cannot forget the importance of presentation (for as we all know, food also attracts through the eyes), and how essential is professional service at a comfortable table. In this respect we are proud to be assisted by another member of the Garriga family: our daughter Laia.

All that work has been rewarded with recognition and regular visits from customers from all over.
This confirms us in our chosen line and lends us the energy to continue each day honourably and gladly to offer you the very best that our hands can produce.

Overview

Anniversary dinner On arrival the restaurant is a beautiful outdoor setup, very romantic. There was a mixup with our booking for me and my girlfriend and they were very good about it and managed to squeeze us in for our anniversary dinner and a birthday. On arrival we were offered food and drink straight away before the menus came out and it was all exquisite. For starters the ham and veal were incredible and for mains we shared the fishermans paella which again was incredible. Throughout the service was very attentive. For pudding we had it quite late so the selection was smaller than the cake trolley we'd seen earlier, but the mango cheesecake was amazing. And to top it off they brought it out with a sparkler, number 1 candle and happy birthday song. I didn't even have to ask them to do this was a really really nice touch that made the evening so special. Would highly recommend. P.s we forgot to tip as our taxi arrived and we shot off and we our very sorry Mas Romeu!.

Sunday lunch with friends. We had a lovely lunch. Arrived at 14.00, place was packed. It had rained so we sat inside, first time. Nice inside, bright & cool. Food was very good, nicely cooked and presented. Very nice own rose. Service was efficient & friendly.Fun lunch. Booked to go back in August when back with family. Worth a visit.

Where is the sixth star? Wow .... that was just awesome. That well placed Restaurant is such a special tip. Here we had the best dinner during our vacation. The food and especially the filet in salt ( oh my goodness ) was the best I ever eat. The stuff was also so friendly and helpful . If You might think it is too expensive - let us tell you it is definitely more than worth the money. We had such a nice evening ! Thank you very much !!!!
